The SAMSERAP (Mental Health, Services and Primary Care) research group was created in 2003 and is composed of a multidisciplinary team of family physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, epidemiologists, statisticians, biologists, computer scientists and physical activities and sports sciences.
Our main line of research is the prediction and prevention of common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and/or risky alcohol use.
Our team has carried out research projects funded by international (European Framework Programs, Medical Research Council, Horizon Europe, etc.) and Spanish (ISCIII, MICINN, Consejería de Salud de la Junta de Andalucía, etc.) research agencies. Our research group was part of the Research Network on Preventive and Health Promotion Activities (redIAPP), and currently belongs to the Research Network on Chronicity, Primary Care, and Health Promotion (RICAPPS), as well as the Biomedical Research Institute of Malaga and Nanomedicine Platform (IBIMA BIONAND). Both entities are accredited by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII).
